The images in Remembrance, comes from facing my own mortality. These images are a kind of Equivalence as described by Minor White “When both subject matter and manner of rendering are transcended, by whatever means, that which seems to be matter becomes what seems to be spirit. " My way of seeing everyday has been profoundly altered; I mourn the innocence of how I lived life. I search for the spirit and question the uncertainty of the future. These landscape images are taken on the shores of Lake Michigan, a place where my children play, a place full of personal memories filled with tranquility and a deep sense of peace. This place is transcended into another world evoking mourning and an alternate state of existence.
